The 1stXV travelled to Hymers in Kingston Upon Hull for the season opener. After a long journey and short warm up the squad adapted well to the officiating and wet and greasy conditions. Barney held possession and used some excellent tactical kicking from solid restarts. They worked hard to keep tempo in the game and this led to 5 first half scores which were all converted. In the second half Barney scored early converted try however, the subsequent play after this was broken up due to ill discipline around the offside line. This led to more possession and a try for the determined home side. Following this the 1stXV applied themselves accurately more and finished the half in style scoring two late converted tries . A great start to the season. Well done boys.
