The story of the first game back after the half term break reads as follows: give your opposition 21 easy points and you give them the game! In cold and clear conditions at home the squad lacked accuracy and team cohesion. St Peter’s played an attractive brand of rugby however, this was easily achieved when tackles were missed and possession given away cheaply. Some hope was salvaged in the first half with Ward scoring a close range unconverted try and a long distance penalty goal from Royle. The squad received some stern words at half time and reacted positively. Royle kicked another penalty goal on the opening encounters and the boys held all the possession and played largely within the Peter’s half. The boys finished on a positive winning the second half 3-0.
